I have an Intel RST RAID controller in my server. This much I've figured out. I also know this because when I reboot the server I get that 'Ctrl-I' message associated with the Intel RAID controllers. However, once I'm logged into Windows, I don't have anything that I can use to see/manage/alert me to issues with the RAID controller. In doing some research I've found that there used to be a Matrix Storage Manager that worked with older Intel RAID controllers, but since I have the newer 'version' of Intel's RAID (known as Rapid Storage Technology), I don't see any management console that I can install to see what's up with my RAID array while the OS is running!Does anyone know what I could use to see/manage/alert me to what's up with my RAID array for an Intel RST (ICH8R) controller???

I thought I'd give you the scoop on what my end game turned out to be. After some more investigation (and with the help of Larry G.) I was able to find out that my controller (ICH8R) is in fact supported by the Intel Matrix Manager. I downloaded the latest version of it from Intel's site and installed it onto my server last weekend.

The funniest part of this is that while it was installing the program, the tray icon popped up and told me I had a degraded array (no kidding!!!). I was able to pop in a new drive and rebuild the array. It took 4 days to rebuild, but it still worked. Thanks to Larry G for pushing me in the direction of looking further into the Intel Matrix Manager software and what controllers it covers.Server is back up and running smoothly.
